Light, maneuverable and comfortable this is a great kayak and a great price for a tandem.
we have had it on the river and the bay and it is very stable and a lot of fun. we look forward to trying out the mount and motor in the future. Thanks to the great customer service too.
I love this Kayak! I live close to the Snake River and launch it there to fish, also local lakes. Stable and easy to handle.
I souped it up with the Lifetime electric motor setup.
I haul it with my model 65044 Lifetime Tent Trailer.
I also received my kayak with some scratches and some scuffs. Other than that the kayak was in good shape. I took it out the other day for the first time and its very sturdy kayak. Stand and fish with ease. Great kayak
I bought this for myself for Xmas present. The Kayak came a little scratched and nicked on the bottom and sides, but figured this would just give it a little character before getting it all scratched up once taking it out. I assume this happened when packaging.
The Kayak seems to be real sturdy and have since attached a fish finder and anchor trolley, cant wait to get it in the water this spring and try it out.
I would like to know from the previous reviewer how theirs was damaged.
Good looking kayak and a great price!
It was damaged when I received it but I was taken care of by the great customer support. I would recommend this USA made product! Cant wait to get it in the water.
This kayak is simply awesome. The first week I had it me and my girlfriend took it down the springs by our house and had a terrific time. I had my doubts about if it could fit two adults in it comfortably since the kayak is only ten feet long but, with the seating set up with the back seat sitting upright the ride was comfortable and we both had plenty of room to move. Also the high water line is perfect for people who are new to kayaking since you sit high in the water almost like a john boat. Lastly the price cannot be beat I have many friends who paid upwards to three times as much and their kayaks are not nearly as nice as this one. Cant wait to get the trolling motor on it so I can go fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico. I highly recommend this kayak to anyone.
Turns out I am part of a growing trend of fishermen offloading the fish and ski boat and opting for human-powered fishing platforms. No muss, no fuss, not much to break and no idiots at the boat launch. I live where I can hand-launch a boat right in the neighborhood, and have been fishing off of a square back canoe, which is itself a very effective fishing platform.
But the Lifetime Sport Fisher is lighter, requires a lot less effort to navigate, and paddles easier into the wind. For the solo fisherman, it is easy to operate. It is handles chop and boat wakes with aplomb. The Sport Fisher is pretty much impossible to tip while you are in the seated position, but it also FEELS very solid and stable so you can concentrate on fishing.
IT DOES wander a bit, and will not track like a longer, narrower boat. But I was able to cover the better part of the south shore of our 2,500-acre lake in no time. When I noticed I had to be home in 10 minutes to make an appointment, I was able to make time even into a stiff wind coming the long way across the lake.
One consideration is that the paddles shipped with the kayak are a bit short. I had to grab a longer one from the garage to get good leverage. At this price point I would not expect paddles at all, though. But plan to pick up one or two paddles designed for a tandem kayak.
Competitive Edge was okay to deal with. It turns out that the day after I ordered, kayak went on back order. As I had not done business with them before and this I a larger ticket item, it was very reassuring to be able to reach someone on the phone. A few folks did kind of a full court press to keep the order moving. Thanks, guys.
I purchased this kayak for my husband for his birthday. He absolutely loves it! He hasn't had it out on the water yet as we only received it a week ago however it seems very sturdy with ample room for 3 people and some fishing gear. Ideally he will only have one passenger (total of two) when he goes out but there is plenty of room for three. The only problem we have encountered is storing it. We purchased a wall mount (the largest kayak mount they had) but the thicker end of the kayak is too wide for the mount. We are going to have to look at some other options. As for the kayak itself though, its a great quality kayak, meets our needs and the price cant be beat!
