I really lucked out finding this swing set. Exactly the caliber of product I was looking for. Wanted the kind of rocking cool swing set I remembered as a kid, something on par with what's in the playgrounds, and this is definitely it. VERY SOLID, secure, and a BIG SWING SET. This was delivered within a few days of ordering it, do not know how you did it!
Thanks --made my kids Christmas!
This is one HEAVY swing set. Instructions recommend two people to assemble structure. I did it by myself with exception of last two bolts; I do not have three hands and arms long enough to torque legs and top for last alignment. I also had to have some help moving it from my drive way to final position in yard. Obviously it would have been easier with help from the beginning ... but I am quite independent.
I recommend this set for the serious minded. Perhaps not necessary for little children but my seven year old son is 410 and 85 pounds. He is going to give it a workout.
I especially like the heavy rubber coated swing chains. This eliminates the possibility of pinching little fingers.
Two negatives: two bolt bags were incorrectly marked (although correct amounts were included) and could not use bushings provided for an extra sleeve within the six top swivel points. Called customer service and found out design had recently been changed and bushings were not necessary.
I really like the set and quite sure it will outlast my sons childhood and teen use! Probably will see grandchildren use. Neighbors have already arrived to check it out with rave reviews.
This was the sturdy, well built, swing set I was hoping for. I ordered it as a birthday gift for my granddaughter, who loves to swing. Now that I have experienced it, I'm thinking about ordering another one for all my grand kids to use when they are visiting.
The swing set itself is great. It arrives in two boxes. Once assembled it is very sturdy and I have no complaints about the quality of the set. I only give it three stars due to the assembly headaches. The parts are obviously not checked before packaging. Most of the parts were fine; however, several would not work properly. In many cases, the parts did not fit together and required drilling out parts in order to get them to work. This is not a set you want to get unless you have a variety of tools to work through the challenges of assembly.
This swing set was everything it was advertised to be. It is attractive and sturdy. We did not cement it in. It is a large swing set with a wide footprint. It came quickly and assembly instructions were clear. I give it 5 stars for a backyard swing set.
Thank you. This product is fantastic. It took me a little while to didn't it set up because I failed to read the instruction manual first. With that being said, the product is extremely satisfactory and exactly as described. The product is very strong and stout, and my kids love it. I appreciate the fact that you all. This product and sold it at a very reasonable price.
This is a very high quality product and was pretty easy to assemble. It can be done by one person if nimble, but it is best done by two. The assembled bars are solid and about 30 lbs. Not very heavy, but long and thus by leverage, it takes some muscle to move around. The paint looks thick and likely to last a long time. I scratched them against other metal surfaces and no metal showed through.
One caution however: Not all the holes for the bolts were properly drilled out. In particular one hole on the A-Frame brace and one hole on the cross brace was too small for the provided bolts to pass. The assembly process is such that the A-Frame has to be held up while you maneuver the bolts thru 4 holes. They have to align just right to pass. If one hole is too small you have to dismantle that section and drill it out before proceeding.
It is best to try to pass a bolt through every single hole before attempting assembly. The drill you will need if any holes are too small is 3/8".
Since at least one other person complained about this, it appears not to be unique to my piece, and would be a good opportunity for improved quality control.
Otherwise I am very happy.
Had the swing 2 weeks and the kids like it. Swing directions, packaging and condition of equipment was excellent. Two points to keep in mind. (1) It will not stand still for kids over 80 lbs. the legs lifted off the ground when my kids attempted to swing. so, you will need to cement the legs. I used a 10"x5" hole and filled with concrete. (2) I had difficulty getting the crossbeam connected to the legs. I had to use a large clamp to pull the flanges down tight enough to get the nut onto the bolt. I assume this is a tolerance issue with the design. Hopefully the engineers will look into this and make adjustments to design.
I'm 250 lbs and I used it and it works great!!!!! Just hard to assemble because the pieces are heavy which made it hard to maneuver the screws in the holes specially when its almost done. I'm glad I have found Competitive Edge which was the cheapest. (Updated on 6/2/2012.)
Came packed very well.
Your going to need help putting it together.
Your kids are going to love it.
Its going to be around for a very long time.
