Manufacturer Description

Whether you’re headed to the campground with your family, or elk camp with your hunting buddies, this rugged, all-season tent is well suited for the occasion. Made with premium grade, Hydra-Shield, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Go ahead and touch the inside walls during a downpour—this canvas will not wick water. The Flex-Bow frame has tempered, spring steel rods that keep the tent taut, and robust 1-inch steel tube poles that will hold up to fierce winds. The floor is a seamless, heavy-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. Easy, one-person setup takes only a few minutes after you have it staked out. The steep walls and 6’6” high ceiling provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. Large front and back doors with top rated #10 YKK zippers give convenient access. Four windows, and two vents allow ample air flow. Windows and vents have no-see-um screen mesh, keeping out the smallest bugs. A customizable gear loft and organizer system offer plenty of places to stow gear. A large awning provides shade and a covered entry. The handy strap-and-cinch storage bag means no cramming a tent into an undersized bag. Hefty 12-inch steel stakes included.

Whether you're heading to the campground with the family or the elk camp with your hunting buddies, the rugged, all-season Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow six-person tent is well suited to the occasion. The Flex-Bow tent is made of a superior, marine-grade, 100-percent cotton duck Hydra-Shield canvas. The custom-woven, treated canvas is ideal for tents, as the double-fill design is strong and durable, while the silicone, dry-finish treatment is watertight, breathable, and durable. As a result, campers will stay comfortable and dry even in a downpour. Unlike synthetic fabrics or canvas with a paraffin- or oil-based treatment, Kodiak's canvas allows water vapor to escape, minimizing condensation, humidity, and mugginess. Plus, you'll rarely--if ever--have to retreat Kodiak canvas.

The Flex-Bow frame is every bit as strong, with 1-inch galvanized steel tubing and 3/8-inch Flex-Bow spring steel rods keeping the tent taut at all times. To further improve ventilation, the tent includes two funnel-flow vents that circulate air and assist with temperature management. And campers won't feel claustrophobic thanks to the tent's spacious 6-foot 6-inch ceiling height, two large D-shaped doors (front and back), and four large windows, all covered with no-see-um mesh. Other details include a 16-ounce, polyester-reinforced vinyl floor; a large 72-by-78-inch awning; a customizable gear loft and organizer pockets; and a handy strap-and-cinch storage bag. The Flex-Bow, which sets up easily with one person, is designed for year-round use, but isn't suitable for extreme winter mountaineering or heavy snow accumulations.

The Flex-Bow's spacious footprint sleeps up to 6 people.

The tent is very well made and was simple to set up. We had 2 inches of rain overnight and we stayed dry. When I took the tent down I found that it was sitting in a pool of water that was trapped by the ground tarp but the floor hadn't leaked.

I will not be using this tent for a while. I ordered it because the time was right. (That's another story.) I opened the box to check the contents when it arrived. I set aside some time to erect the tent just to ensure it was as advertised. I honestly spent more time unpacking, inventorying and studying than I did pitching the tent. My initial impression is absolutely positive. One man can have this tent ready to go in a few minutes. The canvas, poles, stakes, etc. ... all appear to be of the highest quality. The walls were very taut, so I get the impression this is a sturdy tent. I will return and update after I actually camp in it. Cant wait!

Amazing tent, extremely high quality. Very spacious. The only thing that's a little time consuming is staking out the tent. Here in Connecticut, we have rocky terrain. The stakes with this tent are very high quality and 12" long. I hit a rock every time, however, just drive it in on an angle and its all set. This is not a free standing tent and will collapse if not staked out. Was nice to wake up with a heavy morning dew and not have the moisture bleeding through to the interior of the tent. With proper care, I expect this canvas tent to last me and my family a lifetime

topnotch
Have not camped in it yet, but will this weekend. Set it up in the yard. Very easy to set up. Very heavy duty. Seems like a tent I could hand down to the kids in years to come. Came right on time too, the same day it was schedule for.

Iíve always been a big user of the dome tents not a large canvas tent until I was given one. After using the canvas tent for a couple of years I felt it was time to upgrade to a new and larger canvas tent. After searching for one I found it here on Competitive Edge Products web site. I ordered it on a Monday morning expecting not to see it for a week and the tent was sitting at my door step on Tuesday. UNREAL! Thank you Competitive Edge! I need a tent that I can set up by myself so immediately I started setting this 10 x 10 Kodiak tent up . It was very easy to set up and what a tent. There will be many years spent camping with this tent. Thank you for an excellent product.

After weeks of research I settled on this tent. After wearing out my previous canvas tent my only goal was to find another canvas tent. Every review I read left it a clear choice. The Kodiak was the way to go. do not waste your time, I have already done all the research needed. THIS IS THE TENT TO BUY, hands down the best!

I love camping in fact my family and I go camping twice a year and I have tried different types of tent and the Kodak is the best I have seen so far no leaks when the rain fall, standing room inside, stands up to strong wind and cool enough inside on hot days, I have recommended this tent to some of my friends who also bought and are also satisfied.

I just came back from a long weekend in single digit temperatures, snow, 20+ mph winds and freezing rain and this tent took it all without a hitch. Threw a Big Buddy heater and a cot in it and I was living large while my camping buddies were all bundled up in their tents, trying to keep warm. Another great feature is the heavy duty floor along with the ground tarp which virtually eliminates any fear of puncturing the bottom. Not that it was really hard, but the hardest part of setting it up was pegging it down. After that, it goes up easily. The only thing Id recommend that I haven't seen mentioned in the reviews here is to wax the zippers. They seem a bit stiff out of the box. Other than that, an all around great tent. Competitive Edge made the deal that much better with the best price Id seen anywhere else and the inclusion of the ground tarp that fits the tent perfectly. Yeah - buy it! You wont be disappointed.

do not waste your time looking anywhere else. I looked for almost two months at every site I could find. This tent is by far the best I have ever seen. The 10x10 is perfect for my family, and there is enough room for two regular size cots and an air mattress, with additional room for storing gear. Vertical walls and ceiling height give plenty of room to move around. Set up is easy, but it does take longer than they show on the Kodiak web site. There are 12-14 stakes that have to be put down first, which takes the longest amount of time. The poles are easy to assemble and a cinch to erect. Definitely can be done by one person. Realistically, this tent can be unpacked and erected within 20-30 minutes. Taking it down is easy too, and the storage sack is awesome. The poles and stakes are the cause of the weight, but they have a separate bag, so its easy to carry the tent bag in one hand and the pole bad in the other. I have used twice in the few weeks I have owned, and have not experienced rain yet. I did "season" the tent as recommended, and found no water inside. When I did this, the water just beaded up and rolled right off the tent. If your budget is even close to this, go ahead and do yourself right by purchasing this tent.

I bought this tent to replace our 1990 Coleman nylon Spring Bar design tent. I really did not know Coleman copied their design, all I new it had been a great tent that withstood 50 mph gust rain storms and lasted all this time until a bear ripped a hole in it (no food inside just us. We were very familiar on setting it up and the Kodiak went up in 8 minutes. The build quality is high, YKK zippers and the waterproof floor is a big improvement over the cheap tarp floor of my old tent. The 10X10 size is the footprint size, its 3" under inside. We ordered the vestibule that is something the old tent did not have a nice touch. Also the organizers are nice too. Got back from its first outing and we know it will serve us for years to come. If I had to do it over Id get the 10x14, but for the two of us the 10x10 is good enough. The tent is heavy and the pegs and poles heavier but that's what makes it tough. BTW:It really is flammable, just burned the fabric strips that was used to tie the tent and it burned hot and emitted a thick rubbery like black smoke For those thinking of putting in a wood stove inside just think it well before you do. NOT RECOMMENDED; All aside we love our new tent. Thanks for the free fast delivery.

Shipped very fast! Tent and ground tarp are very well made. Setup was extremely easy. I seasoned the tent as instructed and found no leaks inside. The water beaded off the canvas as advertised. Will use next week on an antelope hunting trip to Wyoming. If you want a high quality tent that should last a long time. Then buy this tent. I only wish I would have bought the 10 x 14 deluxe model for more room but the 6010 will work most of the time for my needs.

I ordered this tent April 9, received it April 11 and it has been used 18 nights since then. from Montana to So. Oregon to NW Oregon ... from 17 degrees to 80 degrees, snow, rain, wind (Columbia river Gorge) and heat!!!!! Its as good as every other reviewer says it is! Worth every dollar! As for complaints ... I'll have to get back to on that!!!

I ordered this tent as a first time customer with Competitive Edge. Free shipping, free ground tarp - what's not to like. The shipping was very quick - they immediately shipped it and I had it in just a couple of days. The tent is good looking and appears very sturdy. I have set it up at home outside for practice and to season the canvas with water as they instruct. I hosed it completely down and not a drop was found inside. I'm pleased that the floor seems very heavy duty. I do not have to worry about taking off shoes or walking around gingerly or anything. The tent is very heavy duty. The zippers feel durable as well. The included gear organizers / gear loft is great and will be very handy. Time will tell (going out this weekend for the first time) but I think I'm going to be happy for many years.

Kodiak brand tent arrived today and we are VERY pleased with it. The sturdy construction and attention to detail is superb, right down to the toggles that can be tightened to snug up the window fastenings ... I have never seen a tent so well-appointed. This will be a much more pleasant and comfortable place to sleep than the cheap nylon job we started out with. In fact I would like to add that when we set it up to season it, the storms the nation is talking about rolled through here with wind gusts up to 43 mph. The tent stood up to it like a champ. The awning does need to be rolled up in those conditions.

I love this tent. I have been a tent camper for more than 40 years, using a series of small lightweight pack tents for all that time. Now I have aged into needing something with more headroom and all around comfort and this tent fulfills those requirements very well. It is very roomy, well designed and constructed and so easy to erect that a single person can do it in under 5 minutes. I love the exterior steel pole suspension system. This is not a backpacking tent but it is an absolute delight for multiple people to camp in.

Dan
This is a well made tent, although it does take longer to set up than what the add states. The only issue I have is with the overhang at the door puddles up with water, overhang seems to be not well thought out as the rest of the tent. In all this is still a good tent, we spent 2 days in the woods while raining and windy and it held up very well.

craignon
Superb base camp tent for 2 or 3 people. Solid all the way. Also received tent fast with track numbers and whole 9 yards (Updated on 8/11/2011.)

Obguy
easy setup, great head room, takes the wind, and it does not leak. ill never buy another nylon tent again.

Scott
This tent is extremely well manufactured. The steaks are a very thick, strong aluminum. The first time we used this tent, we arrived at camp in the dark and still had it up within 5 minutes. Very easy set up and take down is even easier. There is no stuffing it in a bag - or folding it just right. You just fold it up and wrap the carry bag around it and your off. We expect years of enjoyment from this product.

Thanks for your help. You can tell your customers that this tent is the BEST tent I have ever owned. Better than North Face, LL Bean, and REI (and those are all nice tents).

Lordgore
Not only was this tent everything and more than I wanted, but this company is ridiculously awesome! I am sadly a very impatient person but they did everything possible to make sure I got my order as fast as humanly possible! Thanks guys the tent is beautiful and very rigid! It withstands big time wind! Also Utah weather changes very sporadically so I have already used it in all seasons and its perfect I love it! Easy setup, perfect price, in fact I personally think its better than the competition only more cost effective!
